Illumina is a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of life science tools and integrated systems for large-scale analysis of genetic variation and function. Illumina came to KWT Global in need of a revamp and strategy for the company's social channels.

KWT was also tasked with later conceptualizing and launching Illumina’s social and paid strategy on TikTok. The launch of Illumina’s TikTok was an opportunity to bring genomics to a new audience, driving greater awareness of Illumina and the field of genomics overall.

The vision was to grow awareness, sentiment and preference, with a goal of equating Illumina with genomics and growing the community on TikTok. KWT developed content pillars to help build ​Illumina’s narrative that would educate, engage, inform and celebrate the world of genomics.

Results

KWT conceptualized, scripted, developed creative assets and captured TikTok first content that laddered back to content pillars including “How Does Genomics Help?”, “Genomics101” and ”It’s Simple Science.” Through the development of strategy and content between KWT and Illumina, the launch was highly successful, resulting in 15K+followers in Q1 with the support of paid media strategy.
